As of 6 January 2016 all reports regarding the possible future use of Donibristle Chapel are being collected into this single archive, starting with the oldest first.
NEW USE FOR DONIBRISTLE CHAPEL
The Community Council wish to carry out a consultation on the future use of Donibristle Chapel. Fife Council has contracted Impressions in Stone Ltd to carry out conservation repairs on the Chapel which will begin on 27th April lasting for 2 to 3 weeks. This will make the building safe but it is thought that the best long–term management solution would be to find a new use for the Chapel. If a viable re–use of the Chapel could be identified then Fife Council would be pleased to lead on a project to find funding. The Community Council would like to know of any interest or suggestions from residents. Please contact the Community Council Secretary Jeanette Gray by email to firstname.lastname@example.org, by letter to Jeanette Gray, 46 Lade Braes, Dalgety Bay, KY11 9SS, or through the CONTACT US page on this site.
Lost balls and toys have been found inside the Chapel. Fife Council will ask the contractor to put them aside for collection if you let us know.
DONIBRISTLE CHAPEL UPDATE JUNE 2015
from the minutes of the Community Council meeting 8 June 2015
Another suggestion for future use was received from the Guides. Unfortunately the funding will only make the building safe but not watertight with no roof so would not be suitable for the suggestions received. The Community Council will contact Fife Council suggesting that the building should be maintained as part of the historical history of Dalgety Bay with noticeboards erected showing this.
