TWINNING AGREEMENT TO BE SIGNED WITH OCSA, HUNGARY
The Community Council is pleased to announce that Ocsa Council in Hungary has been successful in obtaining a grant from the European Union to organise a Town Twinning Meeting there at the end of May.
Since 2009 we have developed a successful relationship between our communities with exchange visits. Ocsa is a similar sized community to Dalgety Bay which has grown from a medieval village into a modern town which is approximately 15 miles from Hungary’s capital Budapest.
The Twinning Meeting is being held over the 29 – 31 May and will involve the signing of a Twinning Agreement between our two communities when representatives from Ocsa’s other two twin communities, Kose from Estonia and Plastovce from Slovakia will also be present. The signing of the Twinning Agreement follows our signing of a Bond of Friendship with Ocsa in 2012. Over the weekend there will be cultural exchanges and presentations from the parties present with discussions on future cooperation. It is intended for a return weekend visit to be arranged with Ocsa representatives travelling to Dalgety Bay in September of this, our Golden Jubilee Year.
There will be no public expenditure incurred by the Community Council for the visit to Ocsa, as travelling costs are being self funded.
